Killeavy Castle Estate has been shortlisted for the inaugural RICS Social Impact Awards 2020 in the Heritage and Leisure categories.
RICS Social Impact Awards 2020
RICS Social Impact Awards 2020 aim to recognise the construction and property professions’ contribution to society and to celebrate their positive impact. The award is centered around how building and infrastructure companies deliver projects that improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of communities.
The RICS Social Impact Awards are the only nationally recognised awards programme in Northern Ireland that show the impact our built environment has on people’s lives.
The winners will be announced on Thursday 21 May 2020.
Killeavy Castle Estate
Killeavy Castle Estate is proudly built and restored by Abergeldie. The castle is a Grade A historical landmark in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Abergeldie started construction in 2017 and in early 2019 the 4 star, boutique hotel and wellness centre opened its doors to its first guests. In its restored form, Killeavy Castle is the ultimate expression of old world heritage and new world comfort.
Formerly known as Killeavy Lodge, the original structure was built by the Foxall Family any time between 1810 and 1820. George Papworth was later commissioned by the Foxall family to redesign its structure and give it its regal features that we see today. The Bell family took ownership of the estate where it remained until 2001.
