Bondi STP Odour Control

Abergeldie were engaged by Sydney Water to deliver 3 key packages of work on Stream 1 at Bondi Sewage Treatment Plant. The 3 key packages were as follows:

Primary Sedimentation Tank 1 Scum Skimmer Upgrade
Primary Sedimentation Tank 1 Pumps Upgrade

Scope of Works

Installation of a new Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) ductwork
Provision of a new “traffic light” gas safety system within each of the PST and grit tank areas
Provision of new Polycarbonate gas tight partition walls at either ends
of the PST and grit tank
Installation of barometric, Control and Fire dampers
Provision of two new gas tight roller shutter door
Installation and balancing of new 55kw Extraction Fan
Testing and commissioning at all phases of work
Cutting in new foul air extraction system to the existing plant wide system
Modification of the PST walls to enable the installation of the drive assembly for the new scum collection system
Replacement of the existing PST handrailing with new aluminium handrail complete with kick rails
Upgrades to the existing industrial water and reclaimed effluent spray systems to improve scum removal
Installation of the new scum collection system including the chain and flight scraper system, baffles, helical scum concentrator and scum hopper
Supply and installation of new fully welded grade 316 stainless steel pipework into the two sludge hoppers.
Supply and installation of VSD on the pump drive
