The scope of works includes

Homebush Control Centre Main Works:

• Build server rooms to house the Traffic Management Systems (TMS), Digital Train Radio System (DTRS) and Trackside Deployment Areas 1A and 1B servers including upgrades to air conditioning, HVAC, fire rating and power supply upgrades
• New and modified internal walls
• Security and access control (CCTV, swipe card access)

Sydenham Control Centre Main Works:

• Build server rooms to house the TMS and Trackside Deployment Areas 1A and 1B Servers, upgrades to air conditioning, power supply upgrades, HVAC, fire rating
• New and modified internal walls
• New workstation areas, by extending the existing building
• Security and access control (CCTV, swipe card access)

The project team advanced the Digital Systems Program works as quickly as possible, despite the challenges of COVID and the recent industrial action. Where possible, the Abergeldie team demonstrated flexibility, working with Sydney Trains to re-stage and prioritise works. Additionally, positive working relationships with specialists from Sydney Trains helped to maximise opportunities to complete the works outside of the restrictions imposed by the current industrial action.

The upgrades provide modern, internationally recognised, intelligent systems that will help improve reliability, increase capacity and enhance customer experience for Sydney train commuters.
