Adamstown Station Footbridge Renewal

Sydney Trains engaged Abergeldie to deliver the Adamstown Footbridge renwal project to improve access and amenities for commuters and staff. The project involved demolition of the existing stairs and footbridge over the rail corridor at Adamstown railway station, the fabrication and installation of a new footbridge and stairs, construction of two lift wells and installation of lifts, and improvements to passenger amenities on both station platforms.

Scope of Works

Complexity

The station remained open to the public throughout the works period. It was only closed during a limited number of weekend possessions. Careful attention was given to works staging, temporary hoardings and temporary arrangements for public access to ensure safety and minimise
inconvenience to the public.

Teams worked back to back shifts around the clock during weekend possessions to take maximum advantage of the available power-out time.

A Rail Protection Officer attended at all times to ensure strict compliance with rail safe working requirements.
