Abergeldie has been supporting communities for over 30 years. Since the very beginning, we have maintained a policy of giving back to the community through generous donations to charitable organisations and volunteering in the communities where we live and work.
Community Partnerships
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach is grounded in building lasting partnerships, supporting meaningful causes and creating positive, long-term impact in the communities where we live and work.
We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with organisations such as Vinnies NSW, supporting people experiencing poverty and homelessness, and WaterAid, improving access to clean water and sanitation. We also invest in future generations through our sponsorship of the Western Sydney University Solar Car Team, reflecting our commitment to sustainability, engineering excellence and inspiring the next generation of industry leaders.
More recently, we have aligned our giving with the causes that matter most to our people ensuring our contributions are meaningful and impactful. We proudly support organisations such as Beyond Blue, delivering vital mental health support across Australia, Greening Australia, restoring landscapes and protecting biodiversity for future generations, and the Starlight Children’s Foundation, bringing joy and resilience to seriously ill children and their families.
In addition, we contribute to a range of organisations that align with our core values. These include Engineers Without Borders AU and Engineers Without Borders NZ, delivering sustainable engineering solutions to improve lives in disadvantaged communities, and MATES in Construction AU and MATES in Construction NZ, providing critical suicide prevention and mental health support across our industry.
Employee engagement
We also foster opportunities for our people at Abergeldie to give back. In The Abergeldie Way, our people volunteer their time to these organisations and take part in activities that raise awareness for causes that are close to our heart.
Vinnies Van
Abergeldie is a long-standing corporate sponsor and partner of the Vinnies Van service in Greater Western Sydney. Each month our team of Abergeldie employees donate their time regularly and go out with the van to provide meals, blankets, toiletries, and hot beverages to people experiencing homelessness, along with offering companionship and referrals to other support services.
MS Gong Ride
Each year, Abergeldie proudly sponsors the West Region Delivery Team as they take part in the MS Gong Ride, an iconic cycling event that raises vital funds and awareness for people living with multiple sclerosis. The team’s dedication reflects our commitment to supporting the communities we work in, promoting wellbeing, and contributing to meaningful causes.
Clean Up Australia Day
Abergeldie proudly supports Clean Up Australia Day across our sites, with our teams rolling up their sleeves to help protect and preserve local environments. From parks and waterways to community spaces, our people come together to remove litter and make a positive impact where we live and work. It’s a simple but meaningful way we contribute to healthier communities and a cleaner future for all.
Other engagement activities
Abergeldie encourages employees to give back by supporting participation in charity events, volunteer programs, and community partnerships. We foster a strong culture of social responsibility and meaningful community engagement and have recently participated in the City2Surf, Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea and 7 Bridges Walk and other fundraising activities.
Supporting local
Caring for communities is part of our DNA. Across our projects and sites, we adopt procurement strategies that support local and indigenous businesses and create employment opportunities for locals and indigenous people. In recent years, we have also supported local communities, fundraising to support communities affected by flooding and have hosted events to educate the younger generation on the built environment.
