Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure, a locally owned infrastructure contractor, operating across the east coast of Australia and in Auckland, New Zealand, is proudly celebrating an important milestone this month: 30 years of building better communities.

Founded in Sydney by Mick Boyle and his wife Robin, Abergeldie began with a mission to deliver the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities. Over the years, the company has grown steadily, attracting like-minded individuals and collaborators into the Abergeldie family. Today it employees over 800 skilled professionals.

Ingenuity, innovation, and a collaborative approach have built Abergeldie’s reputation as a leading contractor with diverse capabilities. Its steadfast commitment to safety, mitigating the impact of our works on the environment, sustainability and achieving the best outcomes for clients and the broader community has underpinned its success.

What began as an ambitious idea from Mick and Robin has blossomed into a company with far reaching impact delivering a broad range of infrastructure services, including design through to construction, and extending into maintenance, asset renewals, and replacements across key sectors including water utilities, bridges and roads, community infrastructure, rail, and energy.

Deeply ingrained in the culture and aligned with its mission to build better communities is Abergeldie’s dedication to giving back to the communities where we live and work and the industry. Abergeldie has supported many community organisations over the years, donating a set percentage of revenue annually (over $4.0m to date) and staff have volunteered their time to Vinnies, WaterAid, Oxfam, Engineers without Borders, Mates in Construction and Beyond Blue.

The company has also been active in industry associations such as the Civil Contractors Federation, Civil Contractors NZ, Australasian Tunnelling Association and Australian Water Association as well as partnering with several universities to help nurture the next generation of professionals who will shape the future of our industry.
