Abergeldie has been awarded a contract by Wollongong City Council to deliver Stages 1A and 2 - 4 of the West Dapto Road Upgrade. This follows the successful completion of Stage 1B and is part of the broader West Dapto Access Strategy, aimed at enhancing safety, creating pedestrian and cycleway linkages, reducing congestion, improving flood-reliable access and increasing connection to the wider road network.
The scope for Stage 1A includes the upgrade of the intersection of Shone Avenue and West Dapto Road, and Stages 2-4 extends from approximately 250m east of Shone Avenue through to Yard Street, Stream Hill and includes stormwater drainage, services relocations, earthworks, pavements, kerb and gutter, line marking and signage, traffic signals and a new pedestrian bridge.
CEO, Mark Bruzzone said, “We’re delighted to continue with Wollongong City Council on these next stages of the West Dapto Road Upgrade. The team did an exceptional job on Stage 1B, and we look forward to delivering the next stages to improve the road network for road users and the local community.”
The West Dapto Road upgrade project is co-funded by Wollongong City Council and the NSW Government’s Housing Acceleration Fund which has contributed $26 million to accelerate delivery.
