Mulgra Street Sewer Protection Works wins at CCF VIC 2026 Earth Awards

The Abergeldie, BMD and KBR (ABK) Joint Venture has been recognised at the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) Victoria Earth Awards, with the Mulgra Street Sewer Protection Works winning the Category 2, Project Value Up to $2M award.

Delivered for South East Water as an emergency design and construct (D&C) project, the works were triggered by rapid creek erosion that exposed a live and critical sewer asset.

Working within a constrained residential creek corridor and environmentally sensitive environment, the team fast-tracked design, approvals and construction to deliver a tailored solution that protected the asset while maintaining uninterrupted service. The works included creek stabilisation, deep excavation, sewer encasement, erosion protection and environmental rehabilitation.

Completed in March this year, the project provides a resilient long-term solution to protect this critical infrastructure for decades to come.
