Abergeldie, in joint venture with BMD and KBR (ABKJV), is delivering a significant Wet Weather Storage project for South East Water at their Pakenham Water Recycling Plant. Designed to support sustainable water solutions across Melbourne’s south‑eastern suburbs, the project is being undertaken through South East Water’s Integrated Planning and Delivery model, with ABKJV engaged as a preferred industry partner for capital works.
The Wet Weather Storage project will construct two earthen, concrete‑lined lagoon storages with a combined capacity of 19.5 million litres to help manage extreme wet weather flows at the Pakenham Water Recycling Plant.
Additional scope includes:
This essential infrastructure upgrade will increase the Pakenham Water Recycling Plant’s hydraulic capacity to temporarily store excess sewage during wet weather events, helping to minimise the risk of spills into the environment and allowing sewage to be returned to the system once conditions improve.
