Sewer Mains Renewals, QLD

QLD
Logan Water Partnership
In progress

Abergeldie is a Delivery Partner to Downer Group as part of the Logan Water Partnership (comprising of Logan City Council, Downer Group, WSP and Stantec). Under this arrangement, works are competitively issued in annual packages. The works have involved the renewal of sewer reticulation mains, ranging primarily from 150mm and 225mm diameter. To date we have relined over 5900 assets, covering 275km, and reinstating over 10,800 junctions. The work is carried out within the Logan City Council area, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Scope of works

The scope of work includes:

  • Cleaning and pre-CCTV.
  • EX lining of sewer mains - DN150, DN225 and DN300 diameter.
  • Junction reinstatements.
  • Traffic control.
  • Minor associated civil works.
  • Post-completion CCTV.
  • Manhole Condition Assessments.
  • Project and subcontractor management.
  • Significant community engagement and notification.

Working in urban areas

The works are undertaken in suburban areas, with over half of the sewer maintenance holes located within private property, shopping centres, public parks and industrial estates. Abergeldie has worked closely with the Logan Water Partnership team on community engagement and notifications to inform residents, businesses and the general public who may be impacted by the works. Abergeldie's commitment to community engagement has been a key factor in successfully delivering works over several years for this client.

Collaboration

The rehabilitation of these assets requires several processes for successful completion, hence the engagement with residents and the general public is a vital aspect for the efficient delivery of the project. The co-operation between Abergeldie and the Logan Water Partnership Community Relations team has been a proven success throughout the period of works and is a key factor in ensuring the project meets both budget and ongoing deadlines.
