Austral Leppington Project
The Austral Leppington project delivered critical water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure to support rapid growth across the Austral and Leppington precincts. Delivered as part of the West Region Delivery Team WRDT, Abergeldie played a key role in delivering this major growth infrastructure package.
Scope of works
The scope of works involved:
- Construction of deep gravity carrier sewers.
- Installation of new water mains.
- Construction of a deep pump station and rising main.
- Delivery of water and wastewater services to support up to 1,700 new lots.
Delivering under a just-in-time model
The project was delivered under a just-in-time model, with construction sequenced alongside progressive design finalisation. This required agile procurement, detailed staging and close coordination to maintain program momentum while designs were being completed.
Collaborative delivery
Early involvement has been key, developing target outrun costs to identify risks early and working closely with stakeholders to forecast costs and manage the supply chain. This approach has resulted in a smooth delivery across the program, enabling our team to assist with concept design and budgeting for future projects.
