Abergeldie, as part of the West Region Delivery Team (WRDT), is delivering Stage 1a, Package 1 of the Badgerys Creek Wastewater Project. This major infrastructure upgrade will support growth within the Liverpool Local Government Area and provide critical wastewater services for the emerging Western Sydney Airport precinct.

Scope of Works

The package includes the delivery of complex civil, mechanical and electrical elements across the project, including:

  • Construction of a deep wet well pump station with provision for future expansion.
  • Installation of high-capacity pumps and rising main infrastructure to transfer waste activated sludge concentrate flows.
  • Delivery of inlet and discharge maintenance structures, valve chambers and emergency storage capacity.
  • Installation of chemical dosing and odour control systems, including activated carbon filtration and high velocity vent stack.
  • Construction of surge protection systems and associated pipework, including trenchless incoming lines and discharge connections.
  • New electrical infrastructure, including switch room, transformer upgrades and variable speed drive systems.
  • Site establishment works, including hardstand areas and perimeter fencing.
  • Utility connections, cutovers and integration with existing network assets.

Delivering long-term network capacity

Once complete, the project will deliver a new pump station and supporting infrastructure to safely manage and transfer wastewater flows into the existing Liverpool system, enabling long-term network resilience and future expansion.
